Argentina LNG
YPF's project with Eni and XRG to liquefy Vaca Muerta gas and export it as LNG from the San Matías Gulf.
Argentina LNG is YPF's project, with Italy's Eni and the UAE's XRG, to export Vaca Muerta gas as liquefied natural gas. It plans floating liquefaction units off the San Matías Gulf in Río Negro and dedicated pipelines from the basin.
YPF filed it under the RIGI. According to press reports, the final investment decision was scheduled for November 26, 2026, and Río Negro called a public hearing on the project.
Why it matters to landowners and companies
It is the project that will move the most land in the corridor: pipeline routes, plants in Neuquén and Río Negro, camps.
