Royalties (regalías)
The share of production value the concession holder pays to the province that owns the resource.
Royalties are what the concession holder pays the State that owns the resource for the oil and gas it extracts. Law 17,319 (art. 59, as amended by Law 27,007) sets them at 12% of wellhead value, with an additional royalty on extensions and a total cap of 18%.
The province collects them, not the surface owner. Landowners are paid easements and damages, not royalties.
Why it matters to landowners and companies
It clarifies who gets what: the landowner does not collect royalties.
How it shows on the map
No layer. The map shows production per well (Energy Secretariat data) for registered users. Open the map.
